Tolliver was a wonderful British Shorthair mix that Dr. Marsden, the current owner of Pikes Peak Vet, adopted during college from a Feline Nutrition Research facility. He was a white, blue-eyed, deaf kitty and he loved everyone.
Tolliver helped raise hundred of orphaned kittens, never met a dog he didn’t like, kept a close eye on numerous baby robins and squirrels, and donated blood on several occasions to help a kitty in need.
Tolliver was the only cat who was laid-back enough to participate in Vet School physical exam class. He even attended a Halloween party painted as a baby white tiger where he and Dr. M won a “Cat/Owner Look-Alike” contest!
Only days before Dr. Marsden discovered she was pregnant with her first child, Tolliver crossed the Rainbow Bridge from a spinal tumor. He was just 11 years old. His huge heart and generous spirit was the inspiration for the Angel Fund so we can help the orphaned, stray and abandoned animal friends who need us.
While the Fund was started to help orphaned and stray cats, its mission has expanded as need arises. We provide care, socialization, food, vaccinations, medical procedures, spay/neuter services and adoption options to many different pets in need. We do this out of our own cash flow, donating staff hours and actual money to attend to these needs. Staff has even been known to take home kittens who are still nursing, but without a mother, so too young to fend for themselves. These heroes get up every two hours in the night to feed and clean the kittens until they are old enough to be weaned. We have an amazing staff!
We hope you are motivated to donate ANY amount to help this pursuit of justice and furever homes for these animals in need. Thank you to the AVMF for providing a platform to further help animals in need!
